Talent Unleashed — into the finals

While normally shying away from anything which refers enthusiastically to disruptive technology, we make an exception for the Talent Unleashed Awards.

For one thing, it’s got huge energy and a global reach — recognising some genuinely groundbreaking work on tech in the EMEA, USA, Asia, and Australasian regions. So, once we entered, it put us in some really fascinating company. We never wanted to be ‘just’ an EdTech company or ‘just’ a gaming company, we want to be a part of the way people, especially girls, understand the language of tech, and part of the way they understand that coding can be creative. So being a part of the wider landscape and aligned with some really brilliant companies is both flattering and inspiring. And the judges (including Steve Wozniak and Richard Branson) know their stuff too.

And we’re EMEA semi-finalists. Short-listed.

However you want to call it, we’ll be putting on our best smart casual and heading to the Museum of London for the ceremony and nervously sucking down the drinks in the hope that we do well, and then qualify for the Grand Finals in San Francisco next spring. That’ll be pretty fancy.

We’re not here to win awards, as we’ve said before. That doesn’t mean we won’t enjoy it if we do…
